LINCOLN, Nebraska — Teledyne ISCO has released its new, intrinsically safe DuraTracker® Ex portable, open-channel flowmeter for use in hazardous (Ex) areas. DuraTracker Ex is certified for hazardous areas classified as Class I, Div 1, Group C&D; Zone 0; and ATEX Category 1G.
“Our DuraTracker flowmeter is the most efficient and reliable flow measuring solution on the market today for a wide range of open-channel flow measurement applications, and the DuraTracker Ex contains the same features while addressing intrinsically safe requirements,” said Kaushal Trivedi, Teledyne ISCO’s business development manager, water platform.
The DuraTracker and DuraTracker Ex support flow measurement technologies including non-contact laser area velocity, submerged Doppler area velocity, and ultrasonic. The flowmeter calculates flow using standard open-channel level-to-flow and area velocity conversions, user defined equations, level to area data points, or level to flow data points.
DuraTracker and DuraTracker Ex feature a durable build and low-cost, efficient operation with room for multiple sensors. “The introduction of DuraTracker Ex represents another great option to our full line of flowmeters and samplers in the markets we serve,” Trivedi said. “Features such as multiple sensor connectivity, Bluetooth and USB interface, high power-efficiency, dual battery bank option to extend battery life, and LED indication are unique to the DuraTracker and DuraTracker Ex.”
